Healthcare Design’s 2024 Architecture/Engineering/Construction Survey
The respondents to Health Design’s 2024 A/E/C survey shared that financial pressures and budget constraints will continue to shape the U.S. Healthcare System, creating a complicated design and construction outlook.
The survey, open to any U.S. architecture/engineering or construction firm that completed at least one healthcare project in the year prior, sheds light on a post-COVID-19 environment defined by lots of healthcare system consolidations and the opportunities and challenges that come with them.
Respondents indicate that the current climate is a catalyst for the implementation of advanced technologies, flexible care environments and bottom-line-friendly renovation or reuse projects.
The A/E/C Survey, which is conducted every two years, was conducted online between January and February. 31 companies participated. This report relates all financial and business information to the 2023 results.
Healthcare represents an average of 51% of all the work of responding companies; 38% of respondents cite healthcare as their main business segment (60% or more of business).
